3DS Max 2019.2: What’s New?

Autodesk has recently presented a new update to its modeling tool.

Autodesk has recently presented a new update to its 3DS Max that is said to improve fluids with a new Loader giving the ability to import caches, apply transformations, assign materials, offset the playback, and render the simulation.

Users can also render data channels such as Vorticity, Density and Age. What is more, you can adjust meshing parameters and render settings for liquid and foam of a loader and reuse simulation and control playback independently. There is also the ability to enable and disable emitters, colliders and motion fields.

Alembic support has also been updated: better performance, UV export that’s compatible with Maya, and all important support for instances.

Arnold is updated to 5.2″ support for texture baking, several shader enhancements (a new Cell Noise shader and new Sheen function in the Standard Surface shader, for example). You can now set up RGB clamping in the clamp shader to either a scalar or color mode and control the Toon shader using the STRING type user data, toon_id.
