A Stunning 3D Recreation of Davy Jones

The author utilized Maya, ZBrush, Substance 3D Painter, and Marvelous Designer to create the model.

Digital Sculptor Lukas Kutschera, known to many for creating realistic-looking characters and informative anatomy studies, has recently revealed a wonderful new project. This time, the artist showed an impressive 3D recreation of the Pirates of the Caribbean's Davy Jones that can hardly be distinguished from the original.

According to the project's description, the model was made by Lukas using Maya, ZBrush, Substance 3D Painter, and Marvelous Designer, while the character's hat and some clothing accessories were created by 3D Generalist Severi Kamppi.

This project, however, is not the first of Lukas' Pirates of the Caribbean-themed artworks. All the way back in 2020, the artist also revealed a 3D recreation of Captain Barbossa and shared a detailed breakdown of modeling and texturing workflows behind the character.
