Huge news for Allegorithmic and the Substance community: Allegorithmic is now a part of the Adobe family. The Substance team states that in Adobe, they’ve found a great partner who shares their love of creation and their drive for innovation and growth.

“You’ll be seeing Substance and Adobe’s tools evolve together within the coming months and years, but the very same teams are still behind your favorite products, and you can still find us in your favorite online Substance communities, which are growing every day,” states the team.

Are you worried about licensing? Nothing changes for now. The team promises that your current licenses will continue running and getting updates. They’re also working on new and more flexible subscription offers which will be presented in the coming months.

“This wild and thrilling ride at the frontier of digital art began 15 years ago – with you. You believed that a small French company from Clermont-Ferrand could change the status quo and revolutionize digital creation. You made us grow. You: the early adopters, the artists, the visionaries, and the discoverers. You are our inspiration and we want you with us as we begin this new chapter, which starts today. Expect it to be bigger, bolder, and full of new adventures!”

oh hell no, I didn't spend 3 fucking years learning freeware paint tools, and PBR Texturing add-ons with the express purpose of avoiding adobe's shithole subscription model just to be looped back in by the VERY TOOLS I USE TO AVOID THEM. I give it 2 years before its a half-functional "premium" add-on for Adobe CC and the title of best non-adobe texturing product moves to the next bunch of idiots in line
