Breakdown: Setting Up Augmented Gerstner Waves in Unreal Engine

Ghislain Girardot has released a comprehensive breakdown of the Sea of Thieves-like water and explained how it was made.

3D Artist and tutorial-maker Ghislain Girardot has released a new in-depth breakdown that explains the working process behind the artist's recent UE-powered Sea Of Thieves-style water project. In this breakdown, the artist thoroughly explained how the Gerstner Waves demo was created, showed how the whitewater particles were set up, demonstrated the workflow in Unreal Engine's Niagara, and spoke about the setup's limitations and constraints. Please note that this is not a beginner-friendly tutorial on Gerstner waves, and some basic knowledge is required.

On top of that, Ghislain also released the project files, which are available for Unreal Engine 4.27 and 5, as a Tier 2 reward on the artist's Patreon.
