Indieway, a hybrid event exclusively targeting indies worldwide, will be held on June 17-18.
For over a year now indie developers, worldwide professionals seeking talent and teams, business developers, marketing experts, and investors have been meeting at Indieway. During the past year, Indieway welcomed more than 110 indie teams, 120+ speakers, and over 2000 professionals meeting online on webinars, Indieway Game Awards, and the Meet To Match system, developing business and expanding the reach of indie culture even further in Turkey.
'Indies are the force fueling the global industry. At any game production, at any level, you will see people coming from the indie scene. Indies are the source of free will creativity, something we should value among all else in the gaming industry. Before the Indieway, we evaluated what was being done for indies locally. Unfortunately, apart from our ‘free booth spaces for every indie without an investor’ program in Gaming Istanbul, it was not much. Indies were treated as companies, forced into conventional events and methods. And to be honest, almost everything that seemed to be done by indies was, well, actually targeting to get talent from indie teams. We wanted to change that.', says the founder of Indieway and partner of Gaming Istanbul, Cevher Eryurek.
Indieway offers free webinar tickets to indie game developers. Indies can showcase their games in the online booth area, and they can meet professionals from every branch and level of the gaming business.
Indieway will continue with quarterly editions and online, with one exception. During September 16-18, 2022 Indieway will be held within Gaming Istanbul.
