Depth Sketching in Mental Canvas by Greg Edwards

This awesome sketch instantly makes you want to explore its fantasy world.

Check out a stunning 2D sketch by Greg Edwards, Art Director at Urban Scale Interventions, that can be explored as a 3D scene inside the Mental Canvas app. Zooming in and out is one thing but changing depth and angles changes the whole game. The project is also an amazing example of how 2D skills can be used in 3D art.

In case you missed the news, Mental Canvas is an app that lets you turn 2D sketches into 3D spaces. You can rotate them, fly through them, look at them from different angles.

The app is now available for Windows and iOS users, plus you can share projects between different devices and send them to other users to view. Please note that the "publish to web" option is only available on Windows.

The app supports any pen and multi-touch tablet running Windows 10. You can import images into your Mental Canvas scenes and export them as MP4 videos. Importing videos or 3D files and exporting your creations as 3D models are not yet available yet.
