Die Hard's Screenwriter to Write Assassin’s Creed Netflix Series

Jeb Stuart will serve as a screenwriter for one of Netflix's latest live-action series based on the famous video game franchise.

This is not the first time Netflix collaborates with Jeb Stuart, as he is the creator of Netflix's upcoming historical fiction drama called Vikings: Valhalla. This time, the screenwriter will be working on an adaptation of one of the most popular video game series for Netflix. The Assassin’s Creed series was first announced as being in development in October. The deal between Netflix and Ubisoft includes "multiple different series, the first of which will be a genre-bending live-action epic, while the others will be animated and anime adaptations," Ubisoft announced in October, 2020.

This is also not the first time Netflix shows interest in turning major video game universes into live-action series. The Witcher starring Henry Cavill has been a huge success with over 76 million users watching it within the first month of release. Netflix is also planning to work on adapting another fan-favorite — Resident Evil.

So far, the new Assassin’s Creed series is in the early stages of production so it is hard to predict when it will be released. It is also not yet clear who will be cast to play the main roles in the upcoming project.
