Elden Ring Has Officially Gone Gold

The game's producer Yasuhiro Kitao assured that the title will be ready for launch on February 25, and the team has already started preparing a day one patch.

FromSoftware's producer Yasuhiro Kitao announced that the highly-anticipated Elden Ring has gone gold. He also presented new shots from the game that were distributed throughout the 46-minute presentation at the Taipei Game Show 2022 online exhibition. The game is expected to be released on February 25 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S.

Elden Ring had originally been scheduled to launch this January, however, it was pushed back to one month in order to allow a little bit more time to fine-tune the game. At the recent Taipei Game Show, Kitao assured that "the title will be ready for sale on February 25" this year as “the master version has already been submitted". In addition, according to Kitao, the team has already started preparing a day one patch.

Kitao also referred to the game’s length. “This will differ significantly by player, but in terms of the targets set during development, the idea is that the main route should be able to be completed within around 30 hours,” said Kitao. “The game as a whole is quite massive, and contains many dozens more hours worth of gameplay, but if we are talking about the main route only, it shouldn’t take much longer than that.”

The producer also answered several fans' questions about the action RPG itself. He mentioned that Elden Ring will have a "New Game +" mode like in the Souls series and shared that the game's action will unfold in a  fantasy world called the Lands Between, the additional world-building elements of which were invented by Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin. The main character of the game will be an unnamed exile who set off to restore the Elden Ring.
