They are joined by befores & afters Editor Ian Failes to trace the path of storytelling from The Matrix to today’s virtual and mixed reality experiences, and into the future beyond.

Moderated by Jon Peddie of Jon Peddie Research, this panel looks at the evolution of “pitchvis,” the high-fidelity visualization used in the earliest stages of production when stories are still being developed. Realception® for Unreal Engine enables real-time playback of live-action video light fields in VR worlds on different head-mounted displays. In this session, Research Assistant Thorsten Wolf of Fraunhofer IIS explains the workflow.
In addition, Epic will host booth presentations going behind-the-scenes on the creation of its recent Chaos high-performance physics and destruction demo, and the use of UE4’s ray tracing capabilities in the “Troll” short film from Goodbye Kansas and Deep Forest Films, and the “Speed of Light” Porsche 911 Speedster Concept demo with Porsche and NVIDIA.
Epic will also host a networking event on Wednesday, May 1 in the FMX Square from 6 PM to 7:30 PM. Attendees are welcome to join for refreshments and new connections.
