Firestoke Raised $2.2 Million in a Seed Funding Round

The publisher will use the capital to grow its game portfolio and expand the team.

The UK-based indie publisher Firestoke announced it has raised $2.2 million in a seed funding round. The round was led by Hiro Capital with the participation of such investors as Behold VC and Techstart Ventures.

The company states that the funding will go towards expanding the team, equipping it with the tools and technology needed for delivering "repeatable success", and growing the company's game portfolio.

Firestoke was founded in 2021 by games industry entrepreneur Paul Farley. The company is operating remotely as it's building a global team "not restricted by geographical boundaries". Currently, the publisher is seeking potential partners and new games to publish and will launch its debut titles in late 2022 on both PC and consoles.

The company said it will focus on compact, accessible, social games that will represent "a mix of creative inspiration and data-driven insights".

"It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to work with such proven game-focused investment teams at this early stage of Firestoke's journey. Each of the investor teams bring huge additional value with complementary skill sets, experience and networks," CEO and founder Paul Farley said. "Most importantly we value many of the same things; creating great games, empowering development talent, building successful businesses, and bringing joy and delight to our players."
