Grab a free scene from Martin Teichmann – an environment modeler, who worked on Uncharted 4 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
A while ago, Martin Teichmann was working on a very interesting Unreal Engine 4 study. He created a very neat environment, which featured beautiful misty landscapes, inspired by Firewatch, The Witness and Bastien Grivet work. Martin Elsaesser helped a lot during the production of this scene.
The environment uses a mix of various techniques. You’ve got beautiful stylized landscapes done with Maya (low poly), some typical Unreal shaders. There’s also some wonderful work with fog and lighting involved and some Photoshop trickery. Particle effects and birds used in that scene are from multiple free Epic projects. Overall, it took about a month in total to develop this scene.
The greatest part is that you can actually download this project for free. Somehow we’ve missed this release, but not want to correct ourselves and bring this information to you guys.
