Gnomon's 2-Part Workshop on Pyro FX in Houdini

Check out a new two-part course by FX TD Alasgar Hasanov.

The Gnomon Workshop has recently released Introduction to Pyro FX in Houdini, the school's new two-part course by FX TD Alasgar Hasanov focusing on Houdini’s gaseous fluid simulation toolset.

The workshop, featuring over 10 hours of video training, discusses how to simulate real-world smoke and fire. You will learn how to generate both small flames and large-scale explosions.

First, you will start with smaller-scale simulations like wispy smoke, dry ice, small fires, and more. Among other things, the workshop covers the key nodes and Pyro solver settings, plus the Pyro Burst Source and Pyro Trail Source nodes released with Houdini 18.5.

Alasgar Hasanov is an experienced VFX Artist who spent over seven years in the CG and VFX industry. The artist worked on X-Men: Dark Phoenix, It Chapter Two, Game of Thrones, American Gods, and The Boys.
