Elden Ring took home the prestigious Game of the Year award.
The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) has announced the winners of the 26th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards, the video game industry's peer-juried awards show. The awards were voted on by AIAS's membership base of over 30,000 industry professionals and were given across 23 categories, which included technology, art, animation, story, and audio.
God of War Ragnarök dominated the ceremony taking home 7 awards, including Adventure Game of the Year and Outstanding Achievement awards across the Animation, Art Direction, Character, Original Music Composition, Audio Design, and Story categories.
The winner of the prestigious Game of the Year award became Elden Ring. FromSoftware's action RPG received a total of five awards at the event, which included Outstanding Technical Achievement, Outstanding Achievement in Game Design, Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction, Role-Playing Game of the Year, and the highly-coveted Game of the Year award.
The AIAS also acknowledged the independent developer community by presenting awards to Isometricorp Games LTD for their game Tunic, which won the Outstanding Achievement for an Independent Game award, and to developer Poncle for their fast-paced time survival game Vampire Survivors, which won the Action Game of the Year award.
