Historian on AI and the Future of Humanity

Yuval Noah Harari discusses the impact of AI and how it will shape our reality.

In his "AI and the future of humanity" talk at the Frontiers Forum, Yuval Noah Harari, historian, author, and professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, speculated on the impact AI has on our lives and how it will change the future.

He brought up important questions including: "In what ways will AI affect how we shape culture? What threat is posed to humanity when AI masters human intimacy? Is AI the end of human history? Will ordinary individuals be able to produce powerful AI tools of their own? How do we regulate AI?"

The professor compares Ai to alien intelligence and says we should put a halt to its irresponsible deployment and into our societies and "regulate AI before it regulates us." And the first step should be making it mandatory for AI to disclose that it is indeed an AI we're talking to.

"That's the end of democracy because that's the end of meaningful public conversations."
