ILIAD: Direct 2D Painting in Unreal Engine

Praxinos, the team of Fabrice Debarge and Elodie Moog, has recently revealed ILIAD, their plugin with a powerful paint engine to make drawings and textures in Unreal Engine 4.

The team states that the tool will be released in late summer 2019. A little is known about the project, but the team pointed out that the tool will feature a layer-based system and a highly customizable brush engine based on Blueprints. The project is being developed in collaboration with Epic Games.

The tool will be presented in France at the Annecy Festival as part of the Annecy International Animation Film Market (MIFA) June 11-15. The team will be in booth 6.001 giving presentations on different UE4 projects and tools.

Attendees will also get a sneak peek at Praxinos’ 2D animation package within a real-time environment powered by Unreal Engine 4, coming in 2020.
