The deal is Kwalee’s first acquisition in its 10-year history demonstrating the company's intention to bolster global hypercasual success.

Game developer and publisher Kwalee has acquired French game developer Tictales. Tictales is a company that specializes in creating and publishing free online games for the web and mobile. The studio released various story-driven games in the last seven years, including Perfume of Love, Fictions, and Swiit Crush – Interactive Stories.

The details of the deal were not revealed. However, it is reported that Tictales will continue to work independently under Kwalee ownership. The studio will also gain access to Kwalee's marketing resources. This is Kwalee’s first acquisition in its 10-year history, which displays the company's intent to bolster global success with both casual and hybrid-casual titles.

Kwalee CEO David Darling commented: "It's a proud moment for us to make Kwalee's first acquisition, and Tictales is the perfect partner. With their successful track record of casual mobile games and ability to tell a compelling story through their games, their ambitions match our own and we're looking forward to building collective success."

Perfume of Love

Tictales co-founder and sales manager Christophe Chocho shared that Tictales considers this acquisition as a "milestone" for the company, saying: "We have been committed since day one to creating amazing mobile fiction for our audience and I'm very proud of all the team members of Tictales". He also added: "The long-term vision of Tictales is to bring bigger franchises to the world, with our production capacity increasing and new talents joining our team. We and Kwalee share the same philosophy about high-quality games and we cannot wait to show our exciting new projects to the world."
