Hazel Brown shares one more educational breakdown explaining the workflow behind a new real-time hairstyle.
Hazel Brown, a talented Hair Artist whom you might remember for breaking down the digital hairstyle created for the Ms.Orc project back in 2023, continues the series of in-depth tutorials on creating realistic digital hair with a brand-new written breakdown.
This time, the creator focused on all things dreadlocks, discussing the history and different types of dreadlocks, explaining how to create textures and work with hair cards to set up the hairstyle in 3D, showing the grooming and optimization workflows, and more. "Locs are one of my favorite hairstyles so I really wanted to share this information and my techniques for achieving this style," commented the creator.
As usual, the breakdown features a multitude of screenshots, allowing even complete beginners to follow the process and get an appealing result in the end. As for the software, the pipeline involves Maya's XGen, Marmoset Toolbag, xNormal, and Photoshop. You can access the full breakdown by visiting Hazel's ArtStation page.
