Lucasfilm-Approved Fan-Made UE5 Version of Knights of the Old Republic

Unreal Cinema, a team of 3D artists, is creating a mini-series based on Knights of the Old Republic using Unreal Engine 5.

One of Unreal Cinema's creators has been working on the adaptation for a few months now, since April 2021. The mini-series is going to consist of ten 30- to 60-minute episodes. After reaching out to Lucasfilm about the adaptation, the artist received a message from the production company saying the creator could proceed with the project. A few rules the artist has been asked to follow include not using any footage from the movies, not using crowdfunding for the KOTOR adaptation project or monetizing the series in any other way, and representing the mini-series as a fan film not affiliated with Lucasfilms.

Unreal Cinema as a whole does, however, have a Patreon account where the users can support the creators. The team has already hired voice actors for the Knights of the Old Republic adaptation and keeps posting updates on the progress.
