You might have heard about Hexels, which we’ve covered a lot on 80.lv. This is a very nice tool, which allows creating beautiful pixel art and animations. What you probably didn’t know, is that it can also work as a great tool for making beautiful decals.

Mark Knight from Marmoset recently published an article, which showed how he used some of the images, created in Hexels and imported them as decals into Gran Turismo Sport. Gran Turismo Sport Decals are imported as Vector image (.svg) files, which enable you to resize the image without losing detail, and they have to be below 15kb. Quite a challenge, but with Hexels you can actually do this pretty quickly. The details are all in this post, and here are the final results of the work.

    I would go for the Affinity Designer and Photo. Much more powerful tools. Both in sale at the moment.
