Netflix's Resident Evil Showrunner Wants to Bring Lady Dimitrescu to the Series

Andrew Dubb shared that if the series is renewed, he'd like to bring in as many fan-favorite characters from the games as he can including Lady Dimitrescu.

The showrunner of Netflix's Resident Evil Andrew Dabb recently shared that he would like to bring familiar characters from games to the next seasons of the series if the show is renewed.

Speaking to Polygon, Dabb said he wants to introduce as many well-known characters as he can including vampiric villain Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil Village and various enemies from all the game entries.

"Over the course of the series, I want to bring everything in," Dabb said. "Left to my own devices, I want Lady D, I want the plant monster, I want it all. I want everything, but judiciously [and] responsibly over time."

The showrunner also expressed his interest in showing the world of the franchise not only at the very beginning of the spread of the virus but also how it can change over the period of 14-16 years.

"An equally interesting question, if not more interesting, is what happens 14 years, 15 years, 16 years in the future where the thing they were trying to prevent has happened?" Dabb wondered. "These characters have spent their lives fighting these outbreaks. What happens when you lose? What does it look like?"

However, whether he will be able to fulfill these plans is still unclear as Netflix hasn’t yet renewed Resident Evil for a second season.

The Netflix series based on the Resident Evil franchise received the lowest viewer rating of any adaptation of the game franchise on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes. However, at the same time, it has one of the highest ratings among critics. So, it remains to be seen whether the streaming service company decides to venture into creating more seasons.
