Nex-Gen Cyberpunk 2077 Boosted CD Projekt's Revenues

The sales of Cyberpunk 2077 increased due to the release of patch 1.5 and versions of the game for next-gen consoles.

CD Projekt has released its financial results for the first quarter of 2022 reporting revenue growth and an increase in operating profit.

According to the report, the company's revenues from sales of products, services, goods, and materials reached 216.1 million PLN ($50.4 million) reflecting a 9% year-on-year increase. CD Project RED's sales revenues grew by 19% reaching 179.3 million PLN ($41.8 million).

The company's operating profit amounted to 85.3 million PLN ($19.9 million), up 97.5% compared to the same period in the previous year.

CD Projekt noted that the major part of its revenue was delivered by game sales, primarily by Cyberpunk 2077. Sales of Cyberpunk 2077 have increased due to the release of patch 1.5 and versions of the game for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The growth was especially noticeable on consoles.

Update 1.5 has also improved player feedback. CDPR said it continues to support Cyberpunk 2077, although the number of employees working on the game has been "considerably" reduced as the company has increased the team that is developing the story-driven expansion for the game.

The company also shared that in the second half of 2022, the main releases of CD Projekt will be the next-gen update for The Witcher 3 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S and the Cyberpunk: EDGERUNNERS anime
series on Netflix.
