NFT Charity Auction Raised $25,000 for Humanitarian Efforts in Ukraine

Avatars for Ukraine, the charity NFT initiative, has raised $25,000 in an auction. 100% of the funds will go towards supporting medical aid for Ukraine.

The Avatars for Ukraine team, organizers of the NFT charity initiative, announced they have raised $25,000 in an auction. The money will go towards supporting medical aid and will be distributed via the official crypto wallet, Aid For Ukraine.

Avatars for Ukraine was a collaboration between a number of Ukrainian digital artists and the charity NFT platform, MetaHistory Museum, and was supported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

The charity NFT collection includes various artworks created by over 50 digital artists from the games and movie industries who have credits for such movies as Bladerunner 2049, Fantastic Beasts, and Star Trek as well as games like Rainbow Six, Halo, and League of Legends.

The organizers revealed that despite the NFT market's 92% decline, they managed to raise $25,000 in just three days and sold nearly one-third of the total stock. They've also noted that those who still want to contribute to the charity, will be able to purchase the remaining artworks from the charitable permanent exposition, starting May 30 at 5 p.m. GMT.
