Path Tracing Is Coming to Cyberpunk 2077 in April

Better lighting promises even more realistic results.

At GDC 2023, CD PROJEKT RED announced that the RTX Path Tracing Overdrive Mode is coming to Cyberpunk 2077 on April 11.

Path tracing accurately simulates light in the scene, making it look extremely realistic. NVIDIA's GeForce RTX GPUs and DLSS 3, already available in the game, will aid the technology for better visuals. The company is planning to "revolutionize the entire pipeline of how games are being created".

Cyberpunk 2077 will also use Shader Execution Reordering to optimize GPU workloads, enabling more efficient path-traced lighting.
