Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Have Sold Over 10 Miilion Copies

The games managed to achieve this milestone within the first three days of their releases setting a new record for any Nintendo Switch software.

Nintendo has revealed that global sales of its first installments in the 9th generation of the Pokémon game series, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, have surpassed 10 million copies.

The games managed to achieve this impressive result within just the first three days of their releases, even despite numerous complaints from players about their technical issues. The 10 million figure, also means that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have become the fastest-selling games in Nintendo history.

For comparison, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, sold 6.5 million copies within seven days of its January 28, 2022 release date, and the previous installments of the 8th generation of Pokémon – 2021's Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl as well as 2019's Pokémon Sword and Shield – sold around 6 million copies during their debut week.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet also became the fastest-selling games among all Nintendo Switch titles, surpassing the equally impressive record of Splatoon 3, which surpassed 3.45 million copies in sales in three days since its launch.

The 10 million figure includes both digital and physical sales – both versions were released worldwide last week on November 18.
