The game continues to lead charts around the globe.
According to the latest NPD Group report, overall consumer spending on games in the US increased by 3% to $4.45. For those of you who missed the news, April showed a 2% decrease, the first fall after 13 straight months of year-over-year industry growth.
The report states that spending on content across console, mobile, PC, cloud, and subscription services generated $4.07 billion, while hardware made $244 million.
Resident Evil Village was the best-selling game of the month and had the best first-month sales of any new game in 2021. Congrats to the team behind the game! Nintendo Switch is once again the best-selling platform (unit sales and dollar sales) for the fourth straight month.
