An interesting thing is that Satoshi actually started his path as an environment artist on a hand-painted MMO. Something went wrong and he decided to give character art a try. A perfect decision – the artist hasn’t looked back since.

The artist has also discussed the steps behind character production. He named the retopology and UV creation the least creative step, so not that enjoyable. Satoshi loves working on high-resolution sculpts and textures/materials. “From simple shapes to fine detail, sculpting is incredibly fun and it’s hard to break away from and move on,” said the artist. “Texturing and materials is where you get to really see your character start coming to life! This is also where I start using Toolbag heavily in my pipeline.”
