Shopify Now Allows Its Users to Mint & Sell NFTs

The company partnered with GigLabs to make it possible.

Shopify, the Canadian multinational e-commerce company, will now allow its users to mint and sell NFTs on its platform. The news was first announced by the company's CEO Tobias Lütke via Twitter. In order to add this feature, Shopify partnered with GigLabs – an organization that offers specialized tools to operate with NFTs.

At first, however, Shopify's NFT Beta program is open to brands, artists, and creators with an established social media presence. Plus, you must be a US-based merchant on Shopify Plus to participate. According to the company's statement, buyers will be able to use a variety of payment methods to acquire NFTs.

"With Shopify, we’ve taken the complexities out of crypto. Mint and list your NFTs on popular blockchains using Shopify’s partner apps. Then, list and sell your way – you and your customers don’t need any crypto. You can accept payment using Shopify Payments, Shop Pay, crypto payment gateways, credit/debit cards, and more. Plus, customers can easily claim their NFTs via email and add them directly to their wallets," comments Shopify.
