Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Is The Top-Grossing Video Game Movie Of All Time

The sequel managed to generate $331 million.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2 is now the top-grossing video game movie adaptation of all time – the movie beat the record set by its predecessor.

Sega revealed the title generated a total of $331 million, while the first part got a $319 million record in 2017. When it comes to the US alone, the sequel made $162 million, passing the first film's $148 million mark. 

Sonic The Hedgehog 2 also managed to get the biggest opening ever for a video game movie in the US. During its debut weekend, the film made $71 million during its debut weekend.
