Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin to Get Game Adaptation

The decision is inspired by games like God of War.

A video game adaptation of the dark graphic novel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin is currently in development. According to Polygon, the third-person action RPG will resemble games like God of War and will be authentic to the story of The Last Ronin arc.

Doug Rosen, senior vice president for games and emerging media at Paramount Global, said that the game will target an older audience and that there are opportunities for several TMNT games for both young and mature age groups. He added that Paramount can take "multiple approaches [to the franchise], and not dial back to make the game something it shouldn’t be."

The choice of audience is not surprising considering the original story's plot. It is set in the future and sees only one Turtle survivor on a quest to avenge his brothers and Master Splinter.

The Last Ronin game is being developed by an unnamed studio and is still a few years away from release. But when it comes out, you should expect an ambitious AAA game.

Meanwhile, you can look forward to seeing the Turtles in Roblox as part of a new game expected to launch together with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.
