HBO's The Last Of Us Episode 8 has set a new record for the series: 8.1 million people watched it on Sunday across HBO Max and linear telecasts. For comparison, only 4.7 viewers tuned in for the show's debut.

Now, according to HBO (via Deadline), the average audience for the first five episodes is approaching 30 million viewers across all platforms.
