The Wayward Realms: an RPG from Former Creators of The Elder Scrolls

Ted Peterson and Julian LeFay are creating an open-world fantasy RPG where "choice, consequence, scope and role-playing will be experienced like never before."

Just a few days ago, OnceLost Games shared the first screenshot showing the upcoming game, and yesterday the team released the official teaser trailer for The Wayward Realms. The team emphasized, however, that the game is still at an early production stage so "things are likely to change." The official trailer is a pre-rendered version of the game captured in UE5. Fans of The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall couldn't help but notice similarities between the two games and have already nicknamed The Wayward Realms "Daggerfall 2.0".

In the game, the players will become a part of the world set on a group of more than 100 islands of all shapes and sizes known as the Archipelago. The people of the mysterious Archipelago strive to have power and reign over the gloomy place of a hundred islands. You will have to defeat all sorts of monsters, spirits, and demons, encounter humans, elves, and dwarves inhabiting the strange land, and more.

The developers' goals for The Wayward Realms are quite ambitious — as the team says, "players will experience a new class of game: the Grand RPG." Firstly, seems like OnceLost Games are planning to redefine the open-world genre by creating a "massive world, way bigger than most other games you can think of" where you will meet thousands of NPCs, travel through numerous forests, see endless mountain chains, and walk across the neverending marshlands all thanks to dynamic procedural generation. Secondly, the creators promise that every gamer's experience will be unique as the virtual Game Master will tailor the story to fit your interests. Based on your behavior and your interaction with the world of Archipelago, you will encounter certain characters and go through a certain chain of events.

The official release date is yet to be announced though you can already wishlist the game on Steam. Don't forget to join our new Reddit pageour new Telegram channel, our Discord, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we are sharing breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
