Ubisoft Announces Live-Action Driver Series

The TV show will be developed exclusively for Binge.com.

Ubisoft revealed that Ubisoft Film & Television is developing a live-action show based on the Driver game franchise. The series will tell the story of the undercover agent and ex-racecar driver John Tanner who needs to take down a crime syndicate.

The last Driver game to hit consoles was 2011's Driver: San Francisco and the latest entry in the series is a free-to-play mobile game, Driver: Speedboat Paradise.

The TV show will be developed exclusively for Binge.com, a new streaming platform that will "showcase original premium content inspired by the most popular video game worlds and content creators." The platform is set to launch in 2022 for all internet-connected devices.

It is said that the show will be produced by Ubisoft Film & Television's Allan Ungar and Binge's Vincent Talenti. Executive producers are Jason Altman, Danielle Kreinik, and Genevieve Jones (Ubisoft FIlm & Television).

In the meantime, the company is also working with Netflix to develop films and series based on Tom Clancy's The Division, Beyond Good & Evil, and Assassin's Creed.
