Ubisoft Changes The Rainbow Six Siege Creative Director

Alexander Karpazis will be replacing Leroy Athanassoff as the new creative lead.

Ubisoft announced they decided to appoint a new creative director for Rainbow Six Siege. The new team leader is Alexander Karpazis, who previously acted as art director on the project.

Previous creative director, Leroy Athanassoff, said he's leaving the role "due to personal reasons". The developer also noted he will be pursuing "other opportunities at Ubisoft."

Karpazis originally joined Ubisoft back in 2011 and then started working on Rainbow Six Siege in 2017. He also contributed to the development of Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Watch Dogs 2. Karpazis noted they will be now preparing for "one of the most ambitious years in Siege's history."

"This isn't a decision I make lightly – I love this game and this community, and I'm so proud of everything our team has accomplished together over the last two years -- but I'm confident that it's the right one, and the team has given me their full support," Athanassoff said regarding the news. "Don't worry, I won't be going too far, and I have a feeling that my journey with this incredible game is far from over."
