What are Unity plans for this year’s GDC? Let’s see what’s in store here.

To begin with, for the first time ever the team will be hosting Keynote Parties in their San FranciscoBellevue and Montreal offices, which are open to the public, so you don’t even need a GDC badge.

What is more, select Unity User Groups will also be hosting their own local viewing party events. The Portland, OR and Austin, TX Unity User Groups are the first announced.

The team has planned a full day of in-depth sessions for their Developer Day on Tuesday, March 19 from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm PST. “Come and learn about new and upcoming technologies in Unity, like how to create instant games with DOTS using Project Tiny.”

There will be numerous other sessions, of course. “Attend “Connecting the DOTS: The Unity Data-Oriented Technology Stack” with Mike Acton and learn how it was applied in the Megacity sample project. Or check out Natasha Tartarchuk’s “Assisted Artistry: Applying Deep Learning to Games Content Creation” session, where attendees will learn practical approaches for applying deep learning techniques to content creation workflows for games resources and more. Operating a multiplayer game on a global scale is quite challenging – grab some tips from Larry Rye in the session “Scaling Multiplayer Worlds for Success”.”
