Using Unity's Clayxels to Create a Stylized Scene

Check out this 2020 breakdown of the scene published by Alex Strook where the author explained how to use Unity + Clayxels combo to create a stylized scene with a touch of impressionism.

Back in 2020, a Game Developer who specializes in Clayxels, a Unity asset, that allows for volumetric modeling, Alex Strook shared a great breakdown of one of the scenes that were created using this asset. Strook started using Clayxels in June 2020 due to "how liberating it was compared to traditional modeling." According to the author, the asset was so convenient that even character creation was fun, even though Strook never does characters.

The breakdown covers a wide range of topics regarding the usage of Clayxels. From gathering impressionist pictures as reference material, to setting up the Clayxels mesh, which is actually composed of a lot of floating triangles (displayed as circles, but they are actually triangles), to working with colors and setting up the Normal Map, and finally to lighting and post-process.
