Yvo von Berg talked a little bit about his recently released tool Tycoon, which allows to build crazy bended structures in 3DS Max.
My name is Yvo von Berg, 21 years old, currently a Dutch Multimedia Design student. I started my 3D adventure a few years ago, it became my passion after my first internship as a 3D environment artist for military simulations. Right now I am working on my final graduation project at Canon and Océ, doing a lot of technical 3D problem solving for real life training simulations.
I could describe myself as a weird mix between art and code. The last few months I realized my focus shifted from the 3D art side to a more technical area. The moment I realized that I could help people by improving their workflow/pipeline was amazing. It feels like I discovered a whole new world of possibilities.
My main goal is to become a Technical Artist, because I really enjoy helping people to create more awesome projects.
Tycoon started out as a combination of a toolrequest for creating pipes and my dream to create rollercoasters in 3D software.
With Tycoon you can easily create custom bending objects and auto snap/align them together. You can also twist and taper meshes.
Tycoon is extremely useful if you want to create objects like: Pipes, Cables, Rollercoasters, Ropes, Fences, Roads and other modulair objects.
So for example if you are a 3D environment artist and you are tasked to create an industrial environment with a lot of pipes, cables: Tycoon is the perfect tool for the job!

Tycoon BETA is currently only available for 3Ds Max. It has been tested in versions 2015,2016 and 2017. (But it should run on older versions as well, I will test it during the beta testing phase) Tycoon is a custom script/tool and it is really easy to install, run and use in your daily projects.
The first Tycoon BETA will release on Friday the 13th May 2016, on Gumroad, price will be only 6 dollars!
I am experimenting with scripting for other 3D software such as Maya, Modo and Blender. So stay tuned!
