This week we would like to highlight a Mimic house in the middle of the forest by 3D Environment Artist, Alan Andrade. Explore this little house amongst the sunny forest but don’t get too close!

The Mimic house/environment was created through a contest involving Alan and his friends. The objective behind this scene was to consolidate all the experience he gained from modeling buildings last year and apply it here, leveraging the full power of Unreal Engine 5.

All the house and additional meshes were created using Nanite to its fullest potential, indicating its intended use for a current-gen game. The artist aimed to incorporate every detail, large and small, into the mesh, leaving only minor elements and transitions for texture work. 

The forest and additional meshes were sourced from 3D libraries like Quixel Megascans. All the textures were obtained from Quixel Megascans, and additional adjustments were made in Substance Designer to tailor them specifically for this environment.
