Senior Technical Artist & UE Generalist at Piomotion

The team is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Artist & Unreal Engine Generalist with a technical understanding of Metahumans, motion capture systems, high-end rendering, Blueprints, and project structuring in Unreal Engine.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of hands-on experience in Unreal Engine, with expertise in troubleshooting engine bugs, troubleshooting MetaHuman issues, and rendering workflows. They should know the 3D character creation process (both traditional and Metahuman-based), possess knowledge of Perforce-based workflows and have experience with VFX in Unreal Engine.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Unreal Engine in a technical role.
  • Strong expertise in Metahumans, familiarity with motion capture systems, motion capture retargeting, and animation workflows.
  • Deep understanding of character creation workflows, including both traditional DCC pipelines and Custom MetaHuman development.
  • Advanced Blueprint scripting knowledge for workflow automation and tool development.
  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine’s rendering pipeline and how to maximize visual quality.
  • Highly organized, with experience handling large-scale cinematic project structuring and data ingestion.
  • Strong proficiency in Perforce and other version control systems.
  • Problem-solving mindset, able to debug complex technical issues in motion capture, animation, Unreal Engine bugs, rendering, and pipeline integration.

Senior 3D Artist at Epic Games

You will be part of the exceptionally talented Partner Program Art team, enabling partners firsthand to reach the Megascans quality by teaching them the best practices of scanning and processing; virtually and onsite. You will also be verifying the quality of assets produced by partners before they reach FAB Library and providing them feedback for their continuous growth. Along with that, you will be working closely with the education development team to create/improve the training materials that will be consumed by our partners.

Requirements:

  • A self-motivated, dependable individual with PBR, general 3D graphics and environment art experience
  • Full proficiency in 3D and 2D software; 3ds Max or Maya, ZBrush, Photoshop, Substance Painter, Unreal Engine, etc
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Multi-tasking expert; comfortable working on multiple projects at once
  • Possess an incredible eye for the quality of output from the different partners
  • Ability to perform while working remotely

Principal Technical Artist: Animation at Rockstar Games

You will create and maintain animation tools and pipelines, continually innovate while solving technical problems, work closely with fellow Technical Artists and related departments, and provide support for an ever-growing Animation team.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 8+ years of professional experience as a Technical Artist or similar role writing tools.
  • Experience working through a full production cycle of a released game or equivalent experience working on long-term projects or toolsets.
  • Experience mentoring more junior team members.
  • A strong understanding of coding UI using PySide or PyQt, including the use of advanced features.
  • A strong understanding of the underlying math that 3D animation systems utilize.
  • A strong understanding of software engineering concepts and patterns.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think outside the box.
  • Experience driving new ideas forward from conception to final product.
  • Experience writing C++.
  • Experience working with in-engine animation systems.
    Knowledge of character rigging and related tools and systems.

Senior Concept Artist – EA Sports FC at Electronic Arts

At EA SPORTS FC, Concept Artists play an important role in shaping the game's visual target. Their work serves as the visual building blocks for environments, characters, lighting, and props. Working closely with the Art Director, they interpret creative briefs and explore original ideas, creating artwork that sets the style and mood of the project.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong drawing and ideation skills, with a specialization in concept design.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, costuming, physical settings, and historical references.
  • Solid awareness of facial expression, pose, posture, gesture and movement.
  • Ability to draw from written briefs.
  • Ability to read and interpret scripts, discuss cinematic team requirements and be a strong visual partner in storyboard creation.
  • Understanding of cinematic camera and cinematic language, including camera angles, camera movements, and editing techniques. The artist should be familiar with the visual language of cinema, including the use of lighting, color, and composition to create mood, establish character, and convey emotion.
  • Have a solid understanding of architectural elements and the ability to design realistic environments. This involves having a deep knowledge of various architectural styles, structures, and materials.
  • Understanding of visual language - texture, color, dimension, scale, perspective, shade, composition, depth of field, proportion, and spatial awareness.
  • Skilled in technical drawing.
  • Knowledge of the game development processes.
  • Ability to create final renders of the concept that can be used as VTARs. 

Character Artist II (NST) at Nintendo of America

As a Character Artist II, you will have proven Substance 3D Painter experience and a deep passion for creating stylized work. You’ll have a portfolio reflecting a variety of 3D character models and textures and a history of working with art leadership to help visualize and develop visual targets. You will also have mentored less experienced artists on the team. 

Requirements:

  • 2 or more years of professional experience in game development.
  • Proven artistic and technical skills in 3D and or 2D art production.
  • Experienced with game development pipelines and game engines (e.g., Unreal, Unity, or a proprietary engine)
  • Proven proficiency with commercial art production software (e.g., Photoshop, Maya, ZBrush, Substance 3D Painter, etc.)
  • Undergraduate degree in art or related field; or equivalent education and experience.

Rigging Artist at CAPCOM

You will partner with animators to understand and define the requirements of the rig, creating high-quality, easy-to-use rigs that meet their needs. You'll develop tools to support the Rigging workflow and maintain the rigs throughout production. In collaboration with artists, you'll help create assets that meet all technical requirements.

Preferred Skills:

  • 5+ years of rigging experience for games/film
  • Maya, Python and/or C++ API knowledge
  • Working knowledge of PyQt
  • General knowledge of MotionBuilder workflows
  • Experience crafting cloth simulation and secondary dynamics
  • Familiarity with game production steps before and after rigging
  • Japanese language proficiency or willingness to learn
  • Knowledge of Capcom franchises 

Character Artist at Santa Monica Studio

You will contribute to character art tasks to help meet the visual standards of the product while maintaining a strong understanding of the game’s design to support clear communication and early issue identification. You'll facilitate requests related to the character art creation process and help resolve a range of artistic development issues across the team. With solid time management and prioritization skills, you'll collaborate with Production to ensure tasks are progressing as expected. Additionally, you'll clearly communicate updates and escalate concerns when needed while actively improving your skill set by staying up to date with industry trends, tools, and techniques.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as a 3D character artist
  • Traditional fine art skills with an emphasis on scale, anatomy, composition, color theory, 2D/3D design
  • Understanding of industry-standard software such as Maya, Photoshop, ZBrush, and texture creation/material editing (Substance 3D Painter/Designer)
  • Familiarity with video game development including, but not limited to, workflow, tools, lighting, high and low poly modeling, texture painting, PBR material setup, UV layout, and engine parameters/optimizations
  • Possesses strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
