Check Out This Custom Fog Shader Made with Only 20 Stacked Quads

A Reddit user Sir_stefen showcased the effect.

A Reddit user known under the name of Sir_stefen showcased this fog effect created with only 20 stacked quads, which allows for creating a volumetric effect while avoiding heavy performance.

The creator shared that working on the shader took them about three days. The technique used in the shader creation is shell rendering, which involves stacking a mesh on top of itself and only rendering a portion of noise per layer. The artist also showed how the fog interacts with an object and particles.
