Create Procedural Chinese Dragon-Style Animations On Any Skeletal Mesh In UE5

Save time and effort in achieving realistic and smooth IK solutions for characters and animals with Dragon IK plug-in.

Just in time for Chinese New Year, codehawk64, creator of the Dragon IK plug-in, has updated the tool with a new solver, perfect for long-tailed creatures with lizard-like anatomy. It's now said to be usable for quadruped turning, exclusively uses custom bone input, and is available to try.

Aside from the Chinese Dragon solver, the plug-in offers a suite of versatile tools that utilize a wide range of procedural animation techniques, catering to various gameplay use cases. Everything is designed to be quick and easy to use, and there are multiple official example projects available on GitHub to help you learn. All features are multiplayer-ready, and while the plug-in is developed in C++, it's fully accessible through Blueprints for your convenience.

Here are the key features of the Dragon IK plug-in:

  • Quadruped Foot Placement IK
  • Biped Foot Placement IK
  • Spider Foot Placement IK
  • Snake IK
  • Multi-bone Aim Solver
  • Speed Warping
  • Twistable Arm IK
