Godot Jolt Now Supports Soft Bodies In Godot 4.3

3D Artist passivestar demonstrated Godot Jolt engine's latest beta release update.

For those who missed this, Godot Jolt is a third-party physics engine for Godot that integrates Jolt Physics and is supposed to replace the built-in one in the future, implementing the same nodes that you would use normally, like RigidBody3D or CharacterBody3D.

SoftBody3D, deformable 3D physics mesh, was actually added back in June's beta release, which only supports Godot 4.3. While this is the biggest change in this update, you can click this link to see the full changelog.

3D Artist Tim Greenberg aka passivestar, who showcased this new feature in action, is known online as a Godot developer and enthusiast. Here, he shared a brief tutorial on lighting and rendering outdoor scenes in Godot, as requested by many:

Previously, passivestar joined 80 Level to discuss managing a YouTube channel, creating video tutorials, working with Blender 4.0, and developing powerful tools using Geometry Nodes. You can read the full interview here.

As the Godot team approaches the final stage of development for Godot 4.3 with the release candidate Godot 4.3 RC 3, it's an ideal time for Godot developers to get involved and test this release candidate with your projects to help shape the final version.

Most of the important highlights from Godot 4.3 were covered in the in the previous Godot 4.3 beta 1 post, so check it out here and learn more about final release candidate by clicking this link.
