Hades II Developer is Looking for a Part-Time UI Animator

Don't miss the chance to work for this award-winning franchise.

Hades II

Supergiant Games, the developer of the beloved action roguelike franchise Hades, has shared a great job opportunity on Twitter. Their San Francisco-based team is looking for a part-time, remote UI Animator to bring “various Hades II menu screens to life.”

The candidate will help animate the 2D menu screens for Hades II by receiving tasks “on an as-needed basis.” The developer also uploaded a video, showcasing the animated Well of Charon screen from the original game as an example of the job content:

Here is the full list of responsibilities for the UI Animator:

  • Cut and enhance illustrated 2D art to create screen transitions and menu background loops in 2D using After Effects (or equivalent)

  • Create supplemental animations matching existing UI illustration style

  • Render animation to PNG sequence for integration into our game engine

  • Organize files and templates for iteration and re-rendering

  • Make any revisions based on feedback from our UI & VFX Artist and Art Director to meet artistic requirements

  • Deliver on artistic / creative goals while adhering to production, gameplay, and technical requirements

On May 6, Supergiant Games shadow-dropped Hades II in early access, which surprised its fans but also disappointed some indie teams whose plans got disrupted. The sequel has received very positive reviews, the same as the original title, with players praising its outstanding art style, improved gameplay, great music, and more.
