You can download the second open-access book via Apress and find supplementary materials on Github.

The books of the Ray Tracing Gems series from Nvidia are an absolute must-read for those who want to know more about the possibilities of real-time ray tracing. The game-changing technology redefined the way light is treated in 3D graphics making it look as real as never before. Ray tracing has already become a standard for many game developers across the globe, and learning how this technology that creates outstanding visuals works is essential for any 3D artist.

Games that use the ray tracing technology include Battlefield V, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Cyberpunk 2077, Fortnite, and other big titles. This method of rendering makes the image more vibrant and believable as it mimics the natural behavior of light. Real-time ray tracing, however, is relatively new so there is a lot to learn about the technicalities here.

The second book was written by Adam Marrs, Peter Shirley, and Ingo Wald. In Ray Tracing Gems II, you can find information about various ray tracing techniques and find out how the developers of Control, Quake II, and Fortnite used the technology when creating their games.
