Simulating 8-Directional 2D Sprite Behavior With 3D Mesh In Unreal Engine 5

Unreal Engine 5 Developer known as dokoro2136 shared an experiment that combines traditional 2D sprite techniques with the depth of 3D rendering. By using custom materials and post-processing effects, they made a 3D character mimic the look and behavior of an 8-directional sprite.
