Substance 3D Modeler's Public Beta Lets You Sync Your Scene With UE5 Using Connector Plug-In

See what's new in the most recent releases of Substance 3D Modeler.

Adobe

Adobe has released an update for Substance 3D Modeler, its desktop and VR sculpting tool, featuring minor workflow improvements. Notably, the Lazy and Steady Stroke options have been removed from the Select tool on the desktop version but remain available in VR. The Substance 3D Modeler 1.22 update also brings a range of bug fixes.

An experimental new Connector plug-in, allowing Substance 3D Modeler to sync with Unreal Engine 5, is now available in version 1.21.5, the beta release of the software. Connector is a framework introduced by Substance 3D in 2023 to simplify the process of moving assets between Substance 3D applications and other DCC software, and it became open-source last year, enabling broader integration and community-driven development.

Currently, Connector allows you to keep your Substance 3D Modeler scene synchronized with just Unreal Engine 5. Support for other applications is on the way, with Blender and Substance 3D Painter expected to be added soon.
