Two new AI-based features were added to 3D Sampler Beta with Generative Background now available in the stable release of 3D Stager.
Back in March, Adobe announced the integration of its AI image creation toolset Firefly in the Substance 3D ecosystem starting with Substance 3D Sampler and Substance 3D Stager, aiming to bring faster workflows and creative freedom for 3D artists, designers, content creators, and other professionals.
Since the last release of Substance 3D Sampler 4.4 in beta with Text-to-texture, AI-powered texture imagery sourcing using a text description, it has received two new options, still officially in beta.
Another text-based feature, Text-to-pattern works similarly to Text-to-texture, using your text prompt to generate a square tiling pattern. The result can be used as the base color with Cloth Weave filter to create an original fabric material or as an input for Pattern filter.

Image-to-texture allows you to generate tiled square textures from your own reference image, no matter if it's non-square or non-tiling, providing better control over the generated results.
All of these features are only available with the Adobe version of the software.

As for Substance 3D Stager, the Generative Background tool originally introduced in Substance 3D Stager 3.0, March's beta release, has made it to Substance 3D Stager 3.0.2, the latest stable version of the software.
The background image for the scene can be created by typing a text prompt and then adjusted by several options. Generative Background uses Match Image technology to align the camera perspective and lighting, making it easy to showcase your designs in an appropriate context.
Similarly to 3D Sampler, all content created with Generative Background receives automatically attached content credentials, indicating that it's AI-generated.
