UNIGINE 2.13 Released

Check out the latest version of the engine with a new GPU-accelerated lightmapping tool and more.

A new version of GPU Lightmapper, better volumetric clouds, better anti-aliasing, a preview of new terrain tools, and more.

One of the biggest things is a new GPU-accelerated lightmapping tool for baking global illumination which is said to provide unprecedented quality results out of the box.

There's also an automatic UV unwrapping tool that will save you time on preparing UVs for lightmaps manually. "It copes well even with complex high-poly geometry taking several minutes, while simple models will be done in seconds," wrote the team.

Updates:

  • GPU Lightmapper tool
  • Introducing SRAA (Subpixel Reconstruction Anti-Aliasing)
  • Upgraded 3D volumetric clouds
  • Performance optimizations for vast forest rendering
  • New iteration of the terrain generation tool with online GIS sources support (experimental)
  • Adaptive hardware tessellation for the mesh_base material
  • Project Build tool: extended functionality and a standalone console-based version
  • New samples (LiDAR sensor, night city lights, helicopter winch)
  • Introducing 3D scans library
