Adobe Firefly Gets AI-powered Vector Recoloring Tools

The new addition to the company's family of generative AI models will enable you to generate color renditions across different formats, create vector variations for dark and light modes on UI interfaces, and more.

Adobe has expanded its family of generative AI models Firefly, unveiled back in March, by introducing a new set of generative AI-powered tools for vector recoloring.

Expanding the capabilities of Adobe Illustrator, the new tools will allow one to enter detailed text descriptions to generate colors and color palette variations, use a drop-down menu to generate different vector styles, and generate the required color options to fit one's needs. According to the team, the new AI-based tools can also be used to "rapidly recolor artwork based on client or customer feedback, adhere to brand requirements, create social media graphics, develop company logos, generate poster designs, and composite in Adobe Photoshop."

"As a line-based alternative to pixel art, vector art can be used for many purposes – website designs that adjust to different resolutions; artwork suitable for layouts larger than printed pages, including billboards and vehicle wraps; and motion graphics with easy SVG asset animation capabilities," comments Adobe. "Firefly’s new vector tools expand your creative capabilities and speed up time-consuming tasks. You’ll be able to quickly generate color renditions across different formats, create vector variations for dark and light modes on UI interfaces, and more."

Earlier this week, Adobe also announced that they intend to integrate Firefly into video production, planning to add the tool into their video, audio, animation and motion graphics design apps.
