Angelic Joins the Ranks of Unreal Engine 5

Metaverse Game Studios has announced that they completed their transition from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5 to reach excellence in graphics. The team shared a breakdown discussing the reasons for this changeover.

Metaverse Game Studios is an independent game development company led by industry veterans who contributed to the core games such as Far Cry, Destiny, Halo series, Warface, League of Legends, Diablo Immortal, Mount&Blade series, Metro Exodus, and more. Now the team is working on the development of Angelic, which has an equal emphasis on storytelling and party-based RPG elements, all backed by a dark and compelling science-fiction.

Recently, the team has unveiled the breakdown where they share the transition process from UE4 to UE5, which will empower the development of their title Angelic. Technical Director Petar Kotevski briefly talks about the transition in the Inside Angelic episode Science Behind the Game.

"The biggest reason by a large margin is that we got improved visual quality without doing almost anything, using the new Nanite and Lumen features that UE5 offers. Nanite enables us to have models which retain the number of details and the overall visual fidelity without having to make different models and textures for objects that are small or distant. Lumen gives us easy control over indirect lighting, making our exceptional environments even better with minimal adjustments.", shared Martin Petkovski, a Senior Developer.
