Capcom Expanded the "Appreciated Parts" from World in Monster Hunter Wilds

"We wanted to make sure that those who become interested in Worlds can now truly become fans of the franchise."

Capcom

Monster Hunter: World, Capcom's 2018 action RPG had a strong commercial performance, selling more than 23 million units by January this year. Many of the fans are new to the Monster Hunter franchise, and this fact has had some effect on the next installment in the franchise, Monster Hunter Wilds.

Kaname Fujio, the art director of Monster Hunter Wilds, has shared what Monster Hunter: World has meant to the team at the PC Gaming Show Most Wanted, held by PC Gamer:

"[Monster Hunter] World has reached quite a lot of people. Seeing people become fans of the game means a lot to us, because through Monster Hunter, we're able to express the game design and creativity that we value so much. And for people around the world to really understand it has really given us a lot of confidence." (Thanks, GamesRadar+)

As more players become interested in the Monster Hunt universe, the team wants them to stay. So when working on the new title, they have focused on the core attractions in World: "We're really expanding on the parts that were appreciated in Worlds and taking it even further into that world. We wanted to make sure that those who become interested in Worlds can now truly become fans of the franchise."

Players' anticipation for the upcoming game, which developers call the "most evolved action and improved immersion in the series," has been even higher with the promised innovative features, including the ability to "switch between two weapons of your choice while out on hunts,” which is loved by fans. The game will also feature an ever-changing environment accompanied by "extreme weather conditions that transform the locale in unexpected ways."

Monster Hunter Wilds will be released on February 28, 2025, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. The beta testing conducted a month ago helped Capcom identify several bugs, such as the monsters frequently running away. The developers have promised that this issue has been fixed and will not appear in the final game.

Before the game's global release, you can pre-order it to receive bonus items, including the "Guild Knight Set" and the Talisman "Hope Charm."
